The Educator of the Week is Dean Nourse
He is from Decatur, Georgia
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and two Master’s degree. One in Special Education and the other in Education Leadership. All of his degrees are from the University of Arizona.
He has been an Educator for 17 years and 15 of those at Cienega.
A fun fact about Mr. Nourse is he likes to wear matching shirts with his wife when he goes to Disneyland.

Congrats to the Boys Golf Team for shooting a season low – 149 – against Salpointe, Rincon, and Foothills. Top three players were 3 over par combined, Koshi Obokuro, Diego Guerrero, and Daniel Henely. Kyle Irvin and Cole Bramhall contributed for the season record round. Diego Guerrero held low honors with an even par round.
The Eco-Travel Adventure club will meet TODAY at lunch in room 512. We will be talking about possible attending the Tucson Meet Yourself event this weekend in downtown Tucson. All are welcome to join us !

Attention Special Olympics Club, our October meeting is TODAY, during lunch. Throughout the year, the Unified Special Olympics Club will be bringing awareness to different disabilities. The biggest barriers people with disabilities encounter are other people and our goal is to educate people regarding disabilities.
During the month of October, the Unified Special Olympics Club is bringing awareness to mental disorders. Some common mental disorders are OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), bipolar disorder, and behavioral disorders. Please take a look at our informational flyers around campus and our bulletin in the 600 building for more information.
Attention all boys interested in trying out for soccer. There will be a quick mandatory meeting regarding tryouts at the beginning of lunch on Thursday in room 323.
Cienega Girls Basketball program will be holding tryouts October 29 through the 31st in the auxiliary gym from 330 to 530. If you are planning on trying out, please submit your completed sports package paperwork, including physical to the athletic department office no later than October 25th.” If you have any questions see Ms. Kennedy in room 317.
Student Council is selling tickets for the Homecoming Dance everyday at lunch this week in front of room 118. Pre-Sold tickets are $20 and at the door tickets are $25. Homecoming is October 13th from 7-11PM in the Student Union. Guest forms are due by THIS THURSDAY, October 11th at lunch to Room 118. Guest forms must be turned in before purchasing a guest ticket. Don’t forget this week is spirit week, today is Pink Out and tomorrow is Student/Teacher swap. Students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students.
