Cienega High School

Outdoor Adventure Club is sponsoring their first fundraiser of the school year. It will be on August 30th at MOD Pizza right near Houghton! Please come out and support these wonderful students!! The proceeds of this fundraiser goes toward wonderful adventures, trail snacks, and other fun things the students do each month.

2023 Cienega HS NJROTC graduate Alexander Patterson on a full University of Arizona NROTC scholarship and 2023 Empire HS NJROTC graduate Anthony Chamberlain on a full Arizona State University NROTC scholarship, have successfully completed NROTC New Student Indoctrination (NSI), held at Naval Station Great Lakes, Ill. NSI is a physically demanding 2.5 week course designed to provide standardized basic military instruction to Midshipmen. This course also facilitates the successful integration of new students into NROTC and college life.

Mica Mountain will be hosting an AZ Attorney General presentation on Opioid Awareness/Current Drug Trends. Lots of great information on how we can keep our kids safe!

Congratulations to Marlo Covarrubias our August Employee of the Month! Marlo is the secretary in our 500 building on campus and was voted on by staff, parents and students. We are so proud to have Marlo part of our Bobcat Family!

Today Tucson Appliance and Furniture delivered to us a wonderful donated refrigerator for a new program that is being implemented on campus to recognize and reward our wonderful staffulty for all of the hard work they do each and every day. CHS Renaissance and administration is starting a room service reward program for the staffulty and this refrigerator will hold some great snacks and drinks for these wonderful Bobcat staff members. Thank you so much Tucson and Appliance for always supporting us and finding the things that we might need on campus.

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) today announced student Rachel Lewis from Cienega High School, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment. Way to go, Rachel! We are so proud of you!

Our very own Ms. Tammla Price has been selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)! We are so very proud to have Ms. Price as part of our CHS family! She absolutely deserves this as she is an incredible educator! Congratulations, Ms. Price!

Our NJROTC Cadets continue to make CHS proud! Our cadets presented the Colors yesterday at the 2023 ADE Teachers' Institute and Leading Change Conference, JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort. Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mr. Tom Horne was in attendance. Our cadets are excellent Vail representatives.
