These 4 (missing one) incredible Bobcats showed what it means to be a CHS CAT at the Willie Williams Track Meet, the big The University of Arizona annual track meet. These 4x400 girls were part of a race that ended with an unforgettable act of kindness and sportsmanship.
Cienega finished second to Mica Mountain High School's girls in an incredibly close race (.4 seconds). After 20 minutes of thinking they had won 1st place, Mica Mountain was disqualified due to stepping out of the line. The moment could’ve ended there—with medals and standings. But instead, these Bobcats did something extraordinary.
One by one, they took off their first-place shirts and gave them to the Mica girls.
They said: "We are sister schools, and we can share this win together."
In a world that often celebrates only the scoreboard, these young women reminded us all what true victory looks like—compassion, character, and community.
Today, Principal Kim Middleton surprised Malia Dojaquez (9), Rose Barlette (11), Malia Mack (10), and Tiffany Armenta (10) with the Heart of a Bobcat Award for emphasizing Integrity, Sportsmanship and Character by displaying the highest level of respect and the embodiment of what it means to be a CAT!

The Cienega High School NJROTC Marksmanship team proudly represented our District at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Western Regionals Air Rifle meet in Sandy, Utah 10-13 April 2025.
Cienega was defending their 2024 Western Regional title from last year, and they performed Outstanding at the end of the meet. The team was in second place going into the final day and came out on top by coming together as a team and securing 1st Place in the CMP Regionals. The CMP Regionals are for the top marksmanship programs in the Nation who compete for the title of best team in the nation. Cienega is now qualified for the CMP Nationals in Ohio against the other two Northeast and Southeast regions. This is another incredible opportunity for the Cienega NJROTC program to continue being the Top marksmanship team in the Nation.
The cadets have won titles from this year’s events; starting with the Arizona State JROTC title, Arizona’s Governors Cup and Arizona State CMP, and 2nd place in the Navy National title, 9th place in the All Service JROTC National title.
Cadet Jaylie Hays and Bryant Fletcher received the highest award, the Junior Distinguished badges for the 3 Position Air Rifle Program.
At this (CMP) Western Regionals meet, Bryant Fletcher was the overall 2nd place shooter, and Ella Johnson and Maia Mallett received 2nd and 3rd place for the top shooter awards for youth under 17. While most sports are seasonal, these cadets are still fighting until June 17-22, 2025, for the last National Title. These cadets, with team captain Jaylie Hays, have been fighting for the National title since last June 2024. Cienega’s NJROTC name is very well known in marksmanship programs.

Congratulations to Lily Dipasupil for being our Bobcat Student of Success. Lily has be awarded a free ticket to Prom, donated by our CHS Student Council!

Brandy Ruth (10) was selected as this year's Leber Orthodontics Smiles Ahead recipient! Each year, Dr. Eric Leber of Leber Orthodontics chooses a CHS student to be the recipient of the gift of a smile, Orthodontic Care in the form of Braces and all the accompanying appointments. Dr. Eric Leber along with his father, Dr. Larry Leber, started this program back in 2012.
Casa Adobes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery have also partnered with Leber and have offered free oral surgery on our last two recipients!
