Arthur has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy, and we couldn’t be more proud. This is an incredible accomplishment and speaks to all the hard work and dedication he’s put in.

Our track team had a great meet this Saturday at Salpointe with some strong performances across the board!
One standout moment—Victoria Williams in the discus threw over 130 feet, setting a new school record and currently ranking 3rd in the state. What an accomplishment!

This weekend, they competed in the Beach Cities Invitational tournament in La Jolla and brought home a **3rd place finish 🥉**- the highest any Cienega volleyball team has ever placed at a national tournament!

Saturday, March 7, the CHS NJROTC competed at Apollo High School, in Glendale, AZ, for the Area 20 Academic Team Championships. Two CHS teams of four Cadets competed in a Quiz Show-style academic team competition against schools from Phoenix, Sauharita, and Colorado Springs, CO. These cadets were awarded first place at the NJROTC Area 20 Academic Team Brain Brawl Championships. Cienega High School is now qualified to compete at the National NJROTC Academic Team Championships! This year they will be held in Daytona Beach, FL at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Congratulations to the Cienega Symphonic Band on receiving the highest score possible at their 2026 Area Performance Evaluation: SUPERIOR WITH DISTINCTION!

Seniors- Jostens will be on campus Wednesday, March 4 during Power-up and lunch for cap and gown deliveries. Please stop by their table at the gate between the 100 and 700 building in front of the Ed center.
On Tuesday, 2/24 Sailors from the USS Tucson (SSN 770), along with Navy veterans representing the USS Tucson (SSN 770) and USS Seadragon (SSN 584) associations, visited the Cienega High School NJROTC program as part of the annual Tucson Rodeo Week celebration.
The USS Tucson is homeported at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Each year, members of the crew are invited to Tucson in recognition of the city for which the submarine is named, and they participate in community events throughout Rodeo Week.
We were honored to host the following members of this year’s USS Tucson namesake delegation:
CDR Vince Bove – Commanding Officer
MMACS Morgan Carney – Chief of the Boat
LTJG James Sandt – Junior Officer
HM1 Joseph Rivera – Independent Duty Corpsman
ETN1 William Rulolfson – Reactor Controls Division

During the visit, Commanding Officer CDR Vince Bove, USN, presented our Senior Naval Science Instructor, CDR Micah Brewer, USN (Ret.), with a USS Tucson plaque. The plaque will be displayed in our classroom beneath the ship’s 1994 commissioning photograph.
We are grateful for the continued partnership between USS Tucson and our NJROTC program and for the opportunity afforded to our cadets to engage directly with active-duty Sailors and Navy veterans.

Please congratulate these 15 members of the 100 person Southeastern Regional Honor Choir that came from Cienega this year! This is a huge accomplishment for them all as individuals and for Cienega in the Choir Community!
Cienega NJROTC Cadet and Andrada Polytechnic High School senior, Isaac Kusch, was awarded the Immediate Scholarship Reservation (ISR) by local United States Navy recruiters.
The ISR is a highly competitive, 4-year Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship awarded directly by Commanding Officers of Navy Talent Acquisition Groups (NTAG) to exceptional high school seniors, bypassing the national selection board. It covers full tuition, fees, and includes a monthly stipend to any college in the United States with a NROTC program. Upon graduation from college with a Bachelor's Degree, NROTC Midshipmen earn a commission in either an Ensign in the United States Navy or a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
