The top 2 Choirs at Cienega, Harmonic Resonance and Classy Cats, both travelled to Flagstaff for the NAU Jazz/Madrigal Festival this weekend, one of the largest choir festivals in the country. Both groups received the highest rating possible of Superior! #thesecatscansing

Our NJROTC Cadets have returned from the NJROTC Marksmanship National Championship held in Sandy, UT. 3-4 Feb 2022. Our team qualified to represent NJROTC Area 11 which makes up 52 NJROTC programs in California and Arizona. NJROTC Cadets from all parts of the country and overseas Department of Defense schools competed in the National Championship. This was our first year qualifying for in-person national competition. Our cadets qualified in 2021 but competed virtually due to the Pandemic. Our cadet team placed 9th nationally and one cadet placed 3rd nationally as an individual marksman (Raymond Tevlin - CHS). Way to go, Cadets!

Four recieved Exellent ratings and TEN recieved SUPERIOR ratings and qualify for National competition!!!! Our Cienega AVID kids have decorated coffee sleeves for Vail Coffee Stop by the train tracks that will be given out with hot drinks through the week, beginning on today, while supplies last. NJROTC Cadet Elizabeth John has been awarded a National Navy ROTC scholarship to the University of San Diego, San Diego, CA. This highly competitive 4-year scholarship pays for all tuition, fees, books, supplies and uniforms. Cadet John will also receive a monthly stipend. Cadet John’s scholarship is worth over $400,000! Cadet John has also received a Congressional Nomination to the United States Naval Academy from U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema. Please congratulate this future U.S. Navy Commissioned Officer when you see her. Bravo Zulu, Cadet John!

Vail Pride Day Fun Run! January 21, 2023 Hosted at Andrada Polytechnic High School

Our NJROTC Cadets assisted the American Legion Post 109 in Corona De Tucson this morning, Saturday 17 Dec 2022, with their Produce on Wheels-Without Waste (POW-WOW) community event. They arrived before dawn to help sort and distribute produce for the community. They also helped with post event clean up.
